Olympic stitching

For some time now, my days have been consumed with canvas painting. So my downtime for stitching comes only at night and time for designing something new has come not at all! I do get a bit distracted by ice skating and ice dancing in the winter Olympics, so I needed a stitching project that didn't require a whole lot of concentration on my part.

I chose another Lee egg from my stash to work on--a companion to the little pansy egg. So far only the background has been worked, in DMC cotton floss #369 in basketweave.

Not much to report, but it's a start!

This is gorgeous - as her things are - and in my colors! I'm sure it's an Easter gift for my basket. As always, I look forward to your stitching bringing it to life.

I find it so fascinating that you stitch the background first on most of your pieces.

Edy- I do this for two reasons: I get the least exciting part out of the way (the carrot-for-the-horse approach) and I find the subsequent stitches "nestle" against the background better. Color also plays an important part: in this case, the light green of the background is lighter than most of the flowers, except for the tulip.

Hi Anne,

Oh, another pretty egg!
And I'm not a spring or egg fan.
LOL!

Very pretty so far. More pictures please? :-)

I know how it is watching the Olympics. Between the games and the snow storms we are sooo off of our regular schedules here!

I am getting a good bit of stitching done at night while watching the games which I hope to share on my blog soon.
