A double-photo finish!
Both versions of the "Victoria" mini-sock design are now completed!
To finish the lace cuff on the mini-sock on the left, I added black Petite Very Velvet and Smyrna crosses to the squares made by the grid of DMC #5 perle cotton that I'd already established. Then I stitched the last ribbon motif, using white DMC floss in basketweave for the background, #991 in satin stitch for the holly, and #304 in a cross stitch for the berries. I chose not to use French knots for the berries because, as a model, this little sock will get a lot of wear-and-tear traveling around and single French knots could be too easily snagged.
I finished off the cuff on the right mini-sock and, again, had one more ribbon motif to complete. For the filigree ribbon, I chose DMC floss #819--a very pale pink--in basketweave for the background, Kreinik #12 tapestry braid #002V , and Kreinik #12 tapestry braid #032 for the "pearls."
So here we have the same basic design, with two very different color schemes and cuff treatments--I look forward to learning which version YOU like best!

These are really really fine!! Beautiful - and a wise choice not to use French Knots, as they do snag and fall out easily with a little bit of wear. This sort of thing will enable these little stockings to still be fresh and beautiful 30 years from now. The lace is great!!
Truly beautiful.. I love both of them! But.. I think I'd choose the dark color scheme if I could have only one. It somehow looks more festive to me. They're both works of art.
I can't choose....the dark green is really christmasy but the lighter green is really victorian to me and so I have to like them both!
Both are very pretty, but I lean towards the darker, more tradional stocking. Not exactly sure why, it just appeals to me more.
Both of these stockings are just cute as can be...I can't decide which I like better - and I really like your thread & stitch selection too. Thanks for showing them off!
Just gorgeous! The black is very dramatic, but I would have to choose the lighter version if I had to choose just one. I love pink, even though I can't wear it. Thanks for sharing both of them at the same time. It shows how a change of color can give a very different look.
